How to Style a Chain Belt Without Overdoing It

A chain belt is a statement piece. The styling problem is not making it visible — it is making it the only statement.

Let it sit against something plain

Chain reads best over solid, unfussy fabric: a plain knit dress, a straight-leg trouser, a simple slip. Pattern underneath fights it.

Position changes the whole look

Worn at the natural waist it defines the silhouette. Dropped to the hip it reads relaxed and more casual. Neither is wrong — but pick one deliberately.

Keep the metals consistent

If the chain is gold, so is the jewellery. Mixed metals can work, but it takes intent, and a chain belt is already doing a lot of the talking.
